Twisted Stalk - Limited Edition Linocut Print

Part of the Colors of Summer collection, celebrating the plants, colors, and memories that define summer in Alaska.

Watermelon berry (twisted stalk) grew along the trails I hiked and backpacked as a kid. My best friend and I would each pick a berry as we passed, calling it our "hydration." I think of that and smile every time I see the berries today.

The delicate, twisting stems made this one of my favorite plants to draw. I loved figuring out how to capture that twisting shape in a linocut. I chose the deep red of a berry just past its prime because it's the color I remember from our backpacking trips.

Designed and printed in my Juneau, Alaska studio. Each print is hand-carved and hand-printed, so no two are exactly alike. You will receive a random numbered print from the edition.
